Length Width

First of all, there is no standard size for long papers, neither in terms of length nor width. Different manufacturers produce their papers in different lengths and widths. In principle, however, papers are referred to as long papers if they are longer than 78mm. The width of slim versions is usually 44 - 48mm, and the width of standard long papers is 54 - 58mm. A smaller width is particularly interesting for pure smokers, whereas the wider papers are suitable for additional filling material such as tobacco or nicotine-free herbal mixtures.

Weight & Thickness / Strength

The thickness of the King Size paper is differentiated using the following terms:

• Slim
• Extra fine
• Ultra fine
• Extra slim
• Ultra slim.

When specifying the weight, g/m² is used as the designation. But what is the benefit of thinner paper? It promotes better burning behavior. This means that it burns more slowly and evenly when you pull on it. So it can be concluded that the thinner the paper, the slower the burn. However, when rolling, thicker long papers do not bend as quickly and do not collapse as easily. Ultimately, however, it depends on what thickness you prefer in your paper, depending on your needs.

Material & texture

Just like the regular size papers, the following materials are available:

• Cellulose
• Flax
• Rice
• Hemp
• corn
• Sugar cane.

There are also long papers for environmentally conscious people which are unbleached and produced without chlorine.

In most cases, the adhesive surfaces of king size papers are made of gum arabic. Gum arabic is nothing other than the sap of the acacia tree. Very thin long papers may even have no gum. The reason for this is that they are self-adhesive as soon as they are moistened. However, you have to use more moisture than with a normal gum. Very important - always make sure you use a natural gum!
