Smoking Papers

The Tuxedo brand is a true veteran in the rolling paper industry. Production with handmade papers began as early as the 18th century. A lot of experience has been gained since then, and this is exactly what you notice in the papers from Tuxedo. The papers convince not only with their quality, but also with their variety.

History around Smoking Papers

It all began in the 18th century when the Miquel family in the Catalan village of Capellades started producing completely handmade papers. But it took quite a while before the brand we know today, Tuxedo, came into being. It was not until 30 May 1924 that Smoking® was registered as an official trademark. With this step, the red Tuxedo Arroz booklet became an icon.

In the following decades, the demand for Smoking Papers increased more and more. The brand became better known and thus the company also benefited from strong exports. With the turn of the millennium came a rethink within the company. A new direction was taken and Smoking Papers now aims to operate a sustainable production with ecological raw materials. As a result, new products were created such as the Smoking Brown King Size Paperwhich is not only ultra-thin, but also unbleached.

Today, Tuxedo is one of the major players in the rolling paper industry. It is also one of the leading Spanish exporters, present on five continents and in more than 100 countries. Due to its high reputation abroad, more than three quarters of its annual production is exported. The focus on innovation and continuous improvement drives the company.
