Activated carbon filter joint: waste or smoking pleasure?

Smoking is harmful - okay, we know. But did you know that there are over 600 different pollutants in tobacco smoke, some of which are even suspected of causing cancer? Nicotine, tar, arsenic, polonium and nickel are just a few and probably the best known. The combustion process also produces harmful gases such as nitrosamines, nitrogen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide compounds. Doesn't sound nice at all. Now one last shocking fact. Most joint smokers only use self-made tips made of paper and the like. These have no filter, so you absorb all the harmful substances through the unfiltered smoke. This means that the smoke from a tobacco joint is about 20 times more polluted than that from a conventional cigarette. So what can you do about it? Use an activated carbon filter joint!

What's the point of an activated carbon filter joint?

- Reduction of harmful substances
- Less strain on the lungs
- Improved taste
- Smoke blends taste smoother
- Relief when smoking neat

As the name suggests, the activated carbon filter contains activated carbon. This activated carbon prevents the penetration of harmful substances due to its large surface and porous structure. The activated carbon reduces up to 90 percent of the pollutants in the smoke and thus lets you enjoy your tobacco and herbs less harmful. Your lungs will thank you!

What about the effect?

The smoke becomes more pleasant, milder and also cooled. Especially for beginners or for the first puff, which usually causes the big cough, activated charcoal filter joints are ideal. There are some myths that activated charcoal filters reduce the effect of the tobacco or herb. To this we can only say that there is no well-founded evidence, studies etc. in this regard and that we personally would not notice anything either. In this sense: MYTH BUSTED!

Which activated carbon filters are available?

In principle, activated charcoal filters differ in size, or more precisely in diameter. Originally, activated carbon filters were used for smoking pipes. Nowadays, this filter size is the standard size and has a diameter of about 8 to 9 mm. Since these are a little too big for some people to roll, the slim version was created, which has a diameter of about 7 mm. For people with extra sensitivity, the Super Slim filters were also made, which have a diameter of 6 mm. So depending on your preference for turning, you have the choice between three different sizes. Here in our shop Here you can find all three sizes of activated carbon filters.

Where else can you use activated carbon filters?

As mentioned earlier, activated carbon filters were first used in pipes before activated carbon filter joints came into existence. In suitable pipes, you can usually just put them in or screw them in and then start right away. You don't need a special filter for this, you just need the standard size. There are also adapters, so-called carballs, for bongs, which are inserted between the chillum and the bong head. You can fill these with loose activated carbon and thus filter out harmful substances when smoking a bong. An additional advantage of these two methods: the activated charcoal keeps your pipe / bong clean longer and you don't have to clean it as often. As you can see, there is an option to use activated charcoal for almost every smoking method. Here you can find suitable carballs for your bong..

Finally, it can be said that activated carbon filters are very practical, as you can simply take them out of the package and start turning. In addition, both ends of the filter are fitted with ceramic caps. They are heat-resistant and can be used from whichever side you want to twist the filter into.

This comment is extremely stupid. Most likely, the Marco lacks the tobacco flash and also the taste of tobacco...

What a bummer - so I've been using it for a very long time and it helps - it's not mumbo jumbo, it's the science of chemistry that really works positively.
